PHOTO: More than one million dollars spent on the first Kazakhstan film about dances

Presentation of the first Kazakhstan movie about dances was held in one of Almaty night clubs, Tengrinews.kz reports. Kazakhstan release of the film will take place in May 2012. Actors and dancers performed parts of dances from the film during the dirty dancing party. Orda band musicians that authored the film's script and staged all the dances in the movie were the headliners of the party. Kazakh, Russian and the U.S. professional dancers gave a masterclasses to the guests of the party before the presentation. According to the plot of the film, its main characters take part in secret street dancing competitions. They experience misunderstanding of their friends, betrayal and humiliation during their exhausting rehearsals. The casting lasted for half a year, where as the shooting itself took less than a month. Zhuldyz Sapargaliyeva, Miss Asian Games beauty pageant participant, started in the movie. This was the model's second role in her professional film career. “It was very difficult, we have been practicing for one month. They have stretched me in different directions, it hurt. It hurt even to walk, but I think the result is worth it,” she said. Zhadyra Sakhiyeva, the film's producer, said that according to preliminary data more than one million dollars were spent on the film. “I am not thinking about the earnings yet. It is important for me that people will come, evaluate the movie and give their feedback. We will appreciate both positive and negative feedback, because we are not stopping, we are going to continue filming,” Sakhiyeva said.
