The concert will put viewers into an eternal dilemma of the meaning of life. In search of answers, the viewers will be presented with three series of musical performances. The first one is Richard Strauss and his works on the life cycle. The works of the German composer will be performed in the original language for the first time in Kazakhstan.

Further, the viewers will be taken into oriental meditativeness of life with Seven songs written by Kazakhstani Tolegen Mukhamedzhanov on Li Bai’s poetry.

The final series will bring the viewer into festivity and celebration of life through Dmitry Shostakovich’s Satire  that will sweep one off his feet with its cheerful and high-spirited vocals.

For Aigul Niyazova and Raushan Beskembirova it will be their debut on the stage of the Astana Opera. The duet has performed together for over 15 years.

Ms. Beskembirova shared that all piano pieces were complex but she found Strauss’s piece especially challenging. “The piano has to sound as an orchestra. It requires transferring specific musical mood (…),” she added.

The concert starts at 7:30 and the tickets cost $9.
