Maria Mudryak from Kazakhstan has performed the leading role in famous Gaetano Donizetti’s opera The Elixir of Love at the Piacenza Theater in Piacenza, Italy yesterday, October 11, Tengrinews reports.

Pavlodar city native Maria Mudryak stared as Adina. The play tells the story of Nemorino, a peasant, who falls in love with Adina, a wealthy landowner. But a girl is in love with self-important sergeant Belcore. To gain Adina’s love, Nemorino buys a magic potion that is actually just cheap wine from Dulcamara, a travelling quack doctor. Nemorino is convinced that the magic potion will solve his problems.

The Elixir of Love was first  premiered at the Teatro della Canobbiana in Milan back in 1832. Since then, Adina’s part has been played by world-renowned opera divas, such as Anna Netrebko, Olga Peretyatko, Alda Noni, Anna Moffitt, Mirella Freni and Aida Garifullina.

Maria was born in Pavlodar, but now she lives in Milan, Italy.

Maria’s signing career started at the age of 5 when after recording her solo album she was named the youngest singer in the world by the Guinness Book. At the age of 10, she was accepted into the La Scala academy as an exception.

At the age of 14, while studying at the academy, she was allowed to get enrolled in the prestigious Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan.

The young singer was named the best opera singer of Italy in 2011 at the National Competition in Italy. She won a Bolashak education scholarship in Kazakhstan and a year later, she graduated from the Milan Conservatory as the youngest student to complete the whole course. This year, she got her master’s degree in music from the Milan Music Academy.

Maria's professional debut was when she was 19. She played the maid Suzanna in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro at the Carlo Felice Theater in Genoa.

Her second role was the singer Musetta in Giacomo Puccini’s La Boheme at the Rosetum Theater in Milan.

Later, she played the step-sister Clorinda in Gioachino Rossini’s Cinderella at The Salzburg Festival.

This year, she starred as Juliette in Jacques Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann that was staged in five opera houses of Italy.
