A young singer from Kazakhstan has impressed the K-Pop show jury in South Korea, CA-NEWS reports. Saltanat Tuktubayeva, 16, made it into the first round of the K-Pop Star 3 project. The jury pointed out several drawbacks in her performance, but they still liked her signing very much.

The jury took a promise from the girl to perform better in the next round. "Your singing is amateur and imprecise, you are not very good at performing the top notes, but I liked it, and I can't explain why. I'm sure I will express everyone’s opinion by saying we will teach you to sing," producer Park Jin-young, who was one of the jury members, said. His colleagues at the K-Pop show agreed with him. "We are smiling and it means you're going to the next round," singer and songwriter You Hee-yeol, a jury member, said. "We expect to hear a pitch-perfect singing next time," another jury singer Yang Hyun-suk pointed out.

The girl came to the native country of her father - South Korea - to sing at K-Pop. But she has not become used to the local atmosphere yet. "I watched the first and second seasons of the show and liked it so much. But it feels a little bit odd to be part of the contest," Tuktubayeva said.

Survival Audition K-Pop Star is a South Korean reality TV competition series where three largest entertainment and talent agencies in South Korea hold worldwide auditions to find the next potential K-Pop stars. Preliminary auditions are held around the world in Asia, North America, South America, Europe, and Australia. The final winner will debut with the company of his or her choice (SM, YG, or JYP), along with a cash prize of three hundred million won ($300 000), two brand new vehicles, opportunities to become commercial models and casting in dramas, and many more.
