Jessica Lauren to sing in Almaty tomorrow

British singer Jessica Lauren and piano virtuoso Oleg Pereverzev from Kazakhstan will perform in Almaty as part of Jazzystan music festival, Tengrinews reports. Their concert will take in Soho Almaty Club (at the Kazybek Bi and Furmanov streets) this Saturday, November 30. The entry ticket costs 3000 tenge ($20). The beginning is at 7 p.m. The singer from Great Britain will also give a music master-class in the Ambassador Hotel on December 1. A jam session will be held on the same day with participation of foreign and Kazakhstan musicians. Oleg Pereverzev will open the concert. He is a pianist, composer and improvisor from Kazakhstan's Chick Flick band. He successfully participated in different international contests in Russia, Ukraine, Great Britain and the United States. He competed for the main prize of A Minute of Fame Russian TV show (similar to America's Got Talent), Britain's Got Talent-8 and reached the final of the Ukraina Mae Talant 5 TV show (Ukraine's Got Talent). Jessica Lauren performs blues, soul-jazz and ambient music. She also sings Cuban songs. She has sang with numerous popular British bands. The organizer of Jazzystan festival Rustam Ospanov says that this is the the seventh concert held in the frames of the fest in 2013. Musicians from Brazil, Japan, the United States, Germany, Great Britain, France, Croatia and Kazakhstan had concerts in Kazakhstan between April and November in the framework of the fest. The fest contributed to the idea of establishing the International Jazz Day under the aegis of the UNESCO to celebrate the virtues of jazz as an educational tool, and a force for peace, unity, dialogue and enhanced cooperation among people. The Day was proclaimed during the UNESCO General Conference in November 2011. The first annual International Jazz Day was kicked off in Paris by UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Herbie Hancock. Jazzystan also contributed to the arrangement of the modern music festival Jazzystan France was held with a support from the French Consulate in Almaty.
