Astana Opera singers to perform in Opera Bastille in November16 october 2014, 22:17
The Astana Opera artists will perform at the Opera Bastille in Paris on November 2, Tengrinews reports.
Astana Opera’s Zhupar Gabdullina and guest performers Denis Matsuev, Ildar Abdrazakov, Alan Buribayev, Yerzhan Kulibayev, Alberto Gazale, Fabio Sattori as well as a symphonic orchestra and the choir of the Astana Opera will perform at the the Opéra de la Bastille.
In the first part, piano player Denis Matsuev will perform Rahmaninov’s Concerto №2. Pieces by a Spanish composer Manuel de Falla and Yerkegali Rakhmadiev from Kazakhstan will also be played with Abzal Mukhitdinov conducting the performance.
Giuseppe Verdi’s Attila will be presened to the audience in the second part. One of the most prominent opera singers of Kazakhstan Ildar Abdrazakov (bass) will perform Attila’s part, while Zhupar Gabdullina will be Odabella. Fabio Sattori will perform Foresto’s part.
Interestingly, only artists of the Opera Bastille can perform on the stage of the Parisian theatre. Rarely do the artists collaborate with companies from other theatres. The theatre cannot be rented, because the building is owned by the state and managed by a council of development of French culture.
It is the first time, a foreign company will perform on the stage of the Opera Bastille independently from the local artists. “In the future we plan to have co-productions and performances, but this particular concert is in a way, a miniature revolution for the Parisian audience,” an Astana Opera representative said.
The Director of the Astana Opera Tolegen Mukhamedzhanov emphasised the importance of the performance on the Parisian stage. “We have a great opportunity to promote ourselves as a theatre invited to the best stages of the world. Being the leading theater of Kazakhstan we have an enormous potential embodied in our masterful orchestra, extraordinary choir, brilliant opera singes and ballet dancers,” Mukhamedzhanov said.
