Mass fight in Astana, gunshot and screams of pain, but everyone say they were just having a good time

A fight involving a couple dozens of participants has taken place in Astana. A witness who lives on the opposite side of the street from the night club, where the fight took place on February 25, sent a video of the incident to Tengrinews editorial office and told us how things unfolded. Everything started with several men sorting things out over a man lying on the ground, then more people approached and a large group of men arrived in a bus, as if specifically for the fight. Then there wa a scuffle with some of the participants using rebars as weapons. One gunshot was clearly audible. However, the police denies that any weapons were used in the fight or that anyone was injured. None of the man needed any medical aid they said. The fighters themselves also testify that none of them had any weapons.

Police arrived only minutes after the fight began. They were aware that the fight involved a large number of people, because a whole fleet of officers, not just a patrol arrived. However a large number of the participants of the fight managed to flee. 9 people were arrested. They all work in the same company. "They were spending time in that club and were pretty drunk. A cross-talk started and then the talking grew into the fight," Astana police press person says. Commenting the fast and massive arrival of the police officers to the indecent site, she said that the fight was caught by one of the street surveillance cameras and several police patrols were dispatched immediately.
