Explosion in Almaty college kills one, injures 12
A grenade exploded in the College of Fashion and Design in Almaty killing one and injuring 12 on November 17. The explosion occurred on the second floor of the school on Raiymbek Avenue at around 9 a.m. during basic military training class. A female student was killed and 12 other students were injured.
The area has beencordoned off by police. All the classes have been canceled. Almaty Mayor Akhmetzhan Yessimov ordered to establish a special commission to investigate the incident. The Prosecutor’s Office said a criminal case had been initiated.
