Color Run paint showering race to take place in Astana

The Color Run race will take place near Duman mall in Astana on September 22, Tengrinews reports. The distance of the run race will not be long and all the runners dressed in white clothes will be showered with different brightly colored paints while they run the race. The paint is environmental friendly and not harmful for human health. The race will start at 10 a.m. The cost of the participation ticket is 1000 tenge ($6.5). The raised funds will be spent on planting of trees in Astana. The famous athletes and artists will come to support the event. The goal of the paint race is to promote healthy lifestyle, fight hypodynamia and obesity. It is also called to support the pilot project of installation of specialized disposal containers for mercury-containing lamps, promote sports among young and elderly people and distract people away from tobacco, alcohol and drugs. The Color Run was founded by event producer Travis Snyder in an effort to encourage professionals and novices to run together for fun. Its first event took place in January 2012 in Phoenix, Arizona, with 6,000 participants. The color marathon was also successfully held in Australia, Brazil, Germany, Portugal, USA, and Chile and Kazakhstan (in Almaty city).
