Kazakhstan’s free-style wrestler Akzhurek Tanatarov, Olympic bronze prize-winner, was honored at Dostyk Central Square in Taraz, a city in Zhambyl oblast of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing KazTAG. “Today we are celebrating the victory of the only athlete from our oblast who has won a bronze medal by the sweat of his brow. He is the only athlete who represented Kazakhstan in free-style wrestling. I’d like to thank him for not letting our country down in the eyes of the global audience. I would also like to express thanks to the other Kazakhstan athletes who won gold, silver and bronze for our country!” Kanat Bozumbayev, Akim (Governor) of Zhambyl oblast said at the grand ceremony.
