Kazakhstan’s female boxer Marina Volnova, who won an Olympic bronze medal was awarded with Kazakhstan Politsiyassyna 20 Zhyl (20 Years of Kazakhstan Police) anniversary medal, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Astana Department’s of Internal Affairs press-service. The victory of Olympic bronze prize-winner Marina Volnova, who is also an Astana police officer, was celebrated in Astana Department of Internal Affairs. “Amantay Aubakirov, head of Astana Department of Internal Affairs (DIA), thanked Marina Volnova for her courage and will to victory on behalf of the Department of Internal Affairs executives, staff and veterans. The DIA head Amantay Aubakirov congratulated Marina Volnova and her coach and awarded her with Kazakhstan Politsiyassyna 20 Zhyl (20 Years of Kazakhstan Police) anniversary medal, money prize, TV set and iPad,” press-service of Astana Department of Internal Affairs said. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that a fireworks show was held in Astana on August 17 in honor of the Kazakhstan athletes, who participated in the London Olympic Games. The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the Olympic winners honoring ceremony that was held in the Palace of Independence. 115 Olympic athletes drove along Astana streets accompanied by a motorcycle escort.
