Judo: Kazakhstan's judoka wins World Masters tournament

Kazakhstan’s judoka Sergey Lim has won the World Judo Masters tournament in Tyumen, Russia, Vesti.kz reports. Sergey Lim fought against Japanese Tomogumi Takajo in the final round of -66kg weight division. Both judokas were watchful and careful in the beginning of the match and were even given warnings (shido) for passive fighting. Then Lim attacked and two minutes before the end of fight he managed to use a submission lock on Takajo’s arm. Askhat Telmanov and Smetov Yeldos represented Kazakhstan in the -60 kg weight division. Both athletes reached the semi-finals but lost their fights for bonze medals. Islam Bozbayev (-90kg) and Maxim Rakov (-100kg) from Kazakhstan competed on the second day of the tournament but didn’t reach semi-finals. 199 judoka from 41 countries took part in the two-day event.
