Ice Hockey: Kazakhstan HC Aisulu lands 19 pucks during European Champions Cup match

Kazakhstan's top ranking Almaty-based women's hockey club Aisulu has gained a resounding victory in the 1st round of the European Champions Cup, Vesti.kz reports. The Kazakhstan hockey team flattened Pantera HC from Minsk, Belarus, on October 19. Aisulu landed 19 pucks into their rival's goal net. After the notorious match the Almaty team won over Romanian HSC Csikszereda in the last game of the round with the score of 7:0 on October 20. Before that the team won over Laima club of Riga, Latvia, with the score of 3:0 on October 18 at the Ice Arena Liepajas Metalurgs in Liepaja city, Latvia. All these victories made the Kazakhstan's hockey club Aisulu the winner of first round and advanced it into the next round of the Group F. IIHF European Women's Champions Cup (EWCC) is a European competition of Women's Ice Hockey clubs, organized annually by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The current format of this competition includes two phases followed by a playoff for four teams. The competition was created in 2004, at the same time as the similar competition for men's hockey teams.
