Gennady Golovkin’ s (29-0, 26 KO’s) promoter Tom Loeffler requested WBA to postpone the defense of the title against Australian boxer Jarrod Fletcher (18-1, 10 KO’s) to fight another Australian boxer Daniel Geale (32-2,16 KO's), Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.

Days earlier Golovkin’s coach Abel Sanchez commented by saying that the Kazakh boxer was ready to defend his title for the 11th time and take on Fletcher.
Tom Loeffler is currently negotiating the Golovkin-Geale fight with Gary Shaw.
According to Golovkin's official vk.com group, the fight will take place at Madison Square Garden on July 26.
Golovkin said that this year he would fight only 2 times, but hoped to have 4 fights next year.
