Kazakhstan boxer and WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin has defended his title against European champion Grzegorz Proksa in the United States, Tengrinews.kz reports. The fight was rather spectacular and fierce. Golovkin took the lead starting from the first round when he knocked down the Polish boxer. After that the Kazakhstan boxer’s strong blows found his rival again and again. However these blows didn’t cause any substantial damage to Proksa because of his unusual manner of fighting. Gennady Golovkin woudn a way to deal with his rival's style only in the fourth round of the match and knocked him down heavily. Grzegorz Proksa managed to hold out until the end of the three-minute round. But in the fifth round Proksa fell down again after a tornado of Golovkin's blows and was unable to continue fighting. The fight was stopped. It is the 24th victory of 30-y.o. Gennady Golovkin in his professional career. 21 out of his 24 victories are knockout victories.
