Boxing: Kazakhstan is first in Asian Boxing Championship’ overall ranking

The national team of Kazakhstan is ranked first overall in the Asian Youth Boxing Championship, Vesti.kz reports. Kazakhstan boxers won four gold and one silver medal in the tournament that was held in the Philippines. Mangistau oblast boxer Kanat Koptileuov, Kazakhstan’s 2013 youth boxing champion and the prize-winner of the 2012 Kazakhstan Boxing Championship, beat Japan’s Kenji Fujita in the final of the tournament. He fought in the 56kg weight division. Kazakhstan’s Aitzhan Shleyev confirmed his status by winning in the 69kg weight division over Uzbekistan’s Israel Madrimov with the score of +12:12. Tursynbay Kulakhmet, Kazakhstan’s 75kg boxer was the leader in his weight division. He beat another Uzbekistan boxer Akmalbek Kossimov with the score of 20:17. Adilet Orynbassarov, 81kg fighter, brought the fourth gold medal to Kazakhstan’s team by defeating Iran’s Siavash Omidi 15:11. Kazakhstan’s Aibek Ermetov lost to Uzbekistan’s boxer 16:12 in the 91kg fight and returned to Kazakhstan with a silver medal of the continental championship. The Kazakhstan team is ahead of the Philippines and Uzbekistan teams in the overall ranking.
