Boxing: Golovkin and Shumenov lead Kazakhstan into Top 10 by champion count

World Boxing Champions Gennady Golovkin and Beibut Shumenov have led Kazakhstan to the 8th place in the global 2013 ranking by champion count in all weight categories, Vesti.kz reports citing Gorodokboxing.com. There are two world champions in boxing in Kazakhstan -- WBA super middleweight Champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin and WBA light heavyweight champion Beibut Shumenov. Great Britain is also represented by two boxing champions: Carl Froch and Ricky Burns. The United States is the leader of the ranking with 11 world champions in boxing. It is followed by Japan that has 8 world champions and Mexico with 7 champions. Then goes Russia that has 4 world champions followed by Cuba, Germany and Philippines that have 3 world boxing champions each. Both Gennady Golovkin and Beibut Shumenov defended their WBA Super Champion titles recently. Golovkin has been acknowledged the Most Exiting Fighter of the Year 2013 by The Sweet Science. The website said that the middleweight World Super Champion kept landing KOs and his last victory over American boxer Curtis Stevens got the number of his followers growing quickly.
