Boxing: Gennady Golovkin nominated for WBN Fighter of the Year

Kazakhstan star boxer Gennady Golovkin, WBA and IBO middleweight World Champion, has been nominated for the title of the WBN Fighter of the Year 2013, Vesti.kz reports. 15 boxers are contesting the WBN title besides Golovkin. American professional boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao from Philippines, Mexican Jhonny Gonzalez, Russian Sergei Kovalev are among them. The annual voting to vest the title is held at here. British boxer Carl Froch, WBA and IBF middleweight champion, gained the title of the WBN Fighter of the Year 2012. Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin will fight his next bout against Osumanu Adama, a 32-y.o. boxer from Ghana, on February 1 in Monte-Carlo. Adama is a professional middleweight boxer, who currently lives in the United States. He had 25 fights, won 22 out of them and lost 3. He ended 16 of his bouts with KOs. Ghana's boxer contested Golovkin's title twice, but failed both times. Gennady Golovkin, the unbeaten boxer from Kazakhstan who won all of his 28 fights as a professional, won over American boxer Curtis Stevens and retained his WBA world middleweight title in his last fight on November 2 in the United States.
