Kazakhstan boxer and WBA world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin gave an interview before his bout with 26-y.o. American Gabriel Rosado and told about his expectations from the forthcoming fight. “I wont to show some good boxing and I am not talking about technical boxing or any strategy. I am thinking about a man’s fight where the actual fighting is not avoided.” As for Rosado’s statement that he is going to knock Golovkin out in the eighth or ninth round, Kazakhstan boxer said: “Rossado is fearless and he strives for this victory. He is at the his top of his form now. He has some defeats, of course, but they don’t spoil his career, they make him a more experienced and fiercer rival. I can say only one thing in response of his ambitious statement: he'll first need to remain standing until the seventh (8th) round. Most of such boxers only make promises. We’ll see how its goes. This is a fight and I don’t want to make any forecasts.” Earlier agents of Dmitry Pirog, Russia’s boxer and WBO world middleweight champion, announced that a fight between Pirog and Golovkin would be held this March. However, Kazakhstan boxer said he was unaware of those plans. “I know nothing about this. If they are ready to fight in March, we’ll need to negotiate the bout. I haven’t discussed it yet. I am focusing on this fight now. But if they are ready, why not? Let’s box in March. I am planning to hold four or five bouts in 2013,” Golovkin said.
