Australian boxer Daniel Geale (29-1, 15KOs), ex IBF world middleweight champion, believes that Kazakhstan's Gennady Golovkin has never faced a real rival, Vesti.kz reports. Geale and Golovkin might face each other in a fight in 2014. But since Geal lost his title to British boxer Darren Barker this August, HBO that Golovkin has an agreement with may find the deal not very interesting. "Golovkin has done very well. Everyone who's been put in front of him, he's been able to take out. You can't ask for more than that. He definitely has question marks, whether he fights that well later into the fight - because he's never been tested. He's earned his recognition. It's about time that he steps up against someone who will take it to him and not be scared of him. Most of the guys who jump in with him and are worried about his power and worried about getting hit," Geale said. The WBA world champion Gannady Golovkin wanted to fight against American boxer Curtis Stevens. Golovkin's promoter Tom Leffler even made an offer to Stevens and the bout was scheduled for November 2, 2013. But Stevens' promoter turned down the offer believing that the payment of $300 thousand was insufficient for putting his client against a boxing with the highest KO rate. Kazakhstan's Gennady Golovkin defended his WBA world champion title by knocking out British Matthew Macklin with a hook to his liver in the third round on June 30, 2013.
