Kazakhstan bandy team has defeated Finland in the group stage of the World Championship that is being held in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports. The match ended with the score of 10:4. Kazakhstan and Finland are traditionally the most stubborn opponents in every tournament the countries participate in. Almaty bookmakers offices couldn't define an obvious leader of bets before the match. Being the host team Kazakhstan players coached by Aleksey Nikishov started to play actively. They opened the score on the 6th minute of the match. Kazakhstan hockey players hit Finland gates five times in the first half of the match while Finland scored just one goal. It is worth pointing out the well-placed shot made by Yevgeniy Shadrin that might be considered one of the most beautiful goals scored during the tournament. Kazakhstan hockey player alone outplayed several rivals and hit Finland gates. The pattern of the game didn't change dramatically in the second half of the match. Kazakhstan players attacked and forechecked Finland's half of the ice field. As a result Nikishov's team scored five goals and Finland replied with only three goals. Kazakhstan team managed to win over Finland for the first time for in the past six years of the World Championships. So, the team coached by Nikishov won three matches and lost two in the group stage of the tournament. Kazakhstan team reached the semi-finals and it will be clear what team Kazakhstan would play against after the match between Russia and Sweden that is scheduled for February 4.
