Rypakova named Athlete of The Year in Kazakhstan

Olga Rypakova has been named the best 2011 track and field athlete in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Alexey Kondrat, Kazakhstan Field and Track Athletics Federation’s secretary general. “A silver medal triple jump prize-winner from Ust-Kamenogorsk is ahead of Yevgeniy Ektov (triple jump, Petropavlovsk) and Natalya Ivoninskaya (100-meter hurdles, Shymkent), Kondrat said. Olga Tereshkova, track and field athlete, who was caught on doping in the end of August, became 17th in the rating. Sergey Alexeyev, Aleksandr Ektov and Alexandr Denissenko were named the best Kazakhstan coaches of the year. Leading track and field athletics experts of Kazakhstan took part in making of the rating, Federation officials said.
