VIDEO: 11 y.o. Kazakhstan figure skater won bronze in Dortmund

Elizabet Tursunbayeva, 11-year old Kazakhstan figure skater won a bronze medal in Dortmund NRW Trophy-2011 tournament, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to the press office of Astana Department of Tourism, Physical Education and Sport. Tursynbayeva was the only Kazakhstan representative in the German competition. She had to compete against 46 other figure skaters from 12 countries in her age group. She was in the sixth place after the short program and became second after the free skating. The video of Tursynbayeva’s performance is available here. The figure skater dedicated her victory to the 20th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan like many other Kazakhstan sportsmen. “I am happy that I was lucky to perform well in the German tournament. It’s a pity I won’t be in Kazakhstan on the Independence Day. But I would like to congratulate all the people of Kazakhstan on this holiday,” the figure skater said. Tursynabayeva will be back to Kazakhstan only on December 20. Kazakhstan Skating Championship will be held in Shymkent on the same day.
