The sportsman broke his thigh then and this injury required a long-term rehabilitation. Vinokourov competed in individual trial under number 28 in France. World champions, Greek, Polish, Sweden sportsmen, as well as cyclists, who came first at the last four Chrono des Nations races participated in the France championship. Earlier Vinokourov planned to ride at the Tour of Lombardy, that was be held on October 15.
