Kazakhstan Muay Thai team won three gold medals at World Championship in Tashkent

Kazakhstan national Muay Thai team brought three gold medals from the World Championship in Tashkent, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Farkhat Amankulov, Kazakhstan Muay Thai Federation vice-president. Kazakhstan sportsmen won three gold, five silver and four bronze medals in total. Darkhan Kaziyev (performed in 63 kilos weight league), Didar Bolatov (45 kilos), Damir Tolenov (57 kilos) got the highest value awards. Adlet Tukenbayev (57 kilos), Nurym Kemal (54 kilos), Iskhar Khassanov (51 kilos), Al-Farabi Koybagarov (60 kilos) and Ishan Galiyev (51 kilos) won silver medals. Zhanserik Amerzhanov (63 kilos), Rassul Manapov (48 kilos and also Almaz Smagulov (performed in 71 kilos weight league) won bronze medals. According to Amankulov, Uzbek fighters were the main Kazakhstan team rivals for the leadership in Central Asia. “The battles were very tough. The competition was severe. There were many points at issue during the fights with Uzbeks,” he said. The World Muay Thai Championship took place in Tashkent Uzbekiston Sports Complex on September 20-27. About 800 sportsmen from almost 70 countries took part in the competition. The next World Championship will take place in Saint Petersburg, in September, 2012.
