Kukushkin won the President’s Cup in Astana

Kazakhstan professional tennis player Mikhail Kukushkin won the President’s Cup in Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to the organizational committee of the competition. Kukushkin played against Ukranian Sergei Bubka in play-off. The day before in the match right before that Bubka had defeated another Kazakhstan professional Andrey Golubev. But Kukushkin easily beat Bubka in two sets 6:3, 6:4 in the final. The sportsman got $18,000 and 110 points in the ATP ranking as a result of this victory. The winner in the women’s competition had been defined the day before. Vitalia Dyachenko from Russia won against Akgul Amanmuradova from Uzbekistan 6:4, 6:1. Dyachenko also won the President’s Cup doubles coupled with Kazakhstani Galina Voskoboeva. Konstantin Kravchuk from Russia coupled with Denis Molchanov from Ukraine won the men’s doubles at the Championship. The competition’s overall prize pool makes $225,000.
