Kazakhstan gained two spots in archery for 2012 Olympics

Two more Kazakhstan athletes have qualified for the 2012 London Olympic Games that will be held this summer , Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Vesti.kz. The athletes were fighting for the Olympic spots during the third stage of Archery World Cup-2012 that was held in American Ogden. Eight athletes took part in the tournament as part of Kazakhstan national team. They were: Anastassiya Bannova, Faria Tukebayeva, Yelena Li, Luiza Saydiyeva, Denis Gankin, Oybek Saydiyev, Artyom Gankin and Yerkebulan Nursapayev. Kazakhstan women’s national team managed to become seventh according to the results of the tournament. However, only the first three teams qualify for the Olympics by the rules. The men’s squad failed to reach the Top-16 of the best teams. However, Denis Gankin’s sixth place and Anastassiya Bannova’s ninth place that they gained in individual competitions allowed them to qualify for the Olympics.
