Kazakhstan designer short-listed for International Design Awards

Designs of 25-y.o. Victoria Yurchenko from Almaty have been entered into the short-list of the International Design Awards-2013, Tengrinews reports. The contest is held by the British Designers Society. More than 30 countries participate in the designers contest every year. Winners are selected in 14 nominations. "I am participating in the Residential Visualization nomination. I've found out about the contest through the Internet only when there were only two weeks left before the application submission deadline and I had no designs ready at that point. Fortunately, the idea came to me right away. I designed and made a visualization of the interior called The Fiery Autumn," Victoria said. The jury, that includes the famous designers, selected the participants at the first stage. The second stage -- the people's choice -- lasted until October 11 at the official website of the contest. The winners will be announced on November 29 at the awarding ceremony at The Dorchester hotel in London. A lot of new opportunities and contracts from world class agencies will be offered to the winners of the contest. By Aizhan Tugelbayeva
