Funds raised at Almaty Charity Ball to be used for campaign against adolescent suicide

All the funds raised at the 5th Almaty Charitable Ball will be transferred for a campaign against adolescent suicide, Tengrinews.kz reports. Friend on-line support center will be openrf in September 2013. It will called to reduction the number of suicides among children and teenagers. Marat Omarov, Eventica Company’s director, said this at the presentation of the 5th Charitable Ball. 12 psychologists, specializing in adolescent suicide, will keep the Center working 24/7. All those wishing to ask a question will be able to do so over the telephone or Skype. Not only children but also their parents, who want to know how they could help their children would have a chance to get consultations from the Center. “257 children and teenagers committed suicide in Kazakhstan last year. (…) Kazakhstan is at the third place in the world by number of adolescent suicides. If we were more attentive to the problem this figure would have been lower,” Omarov said. The 5th Charitable Ball will be held in Almaty on May 4, 2013. Internationally acclaimed baritone singer Dmitry Khvorostovsky and British Touch and Go pop-jazz band will take part in ball that is one of the major cultural events of Almaty city. Young singer Ali Okapov, Roza Rymabyeva’s son, Mysterions band and Aliya Telebarissova, who became known thanks to Zhauzhurek Myn Bala (1000 Brave Boys) movie will participate as debutants of the Ball. More than 3400 young people have applied to participate in the ball in 2013. Omarov said that 12 940 people have applied to participate in the ball over the last five years. The organizers have arranged casting for debutants in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan for the first time this year. 60 debutant dancing couples will traditionally open the Ball. The 4th Charitable Ball, was held in Almaty on April 14, 2012. Francophone singer Lara Fabian became the most long-awaited and the most prominent guest of the Ball. All the funds raised at the 4th Almaty Charitable Ball were spent on in vitro fertilization (IVF) to help childless families get children. Six families got certificates for in vitro fertilization in the beginning of April last year. Three families out of the six have gave birth to children since then. By Aizhan Tugelbayeva
