Pavlodar schoolgirl became the prize-winner of Air Smith International Olympiad that was held in Houston, Tengrinews.kz reports. Nazifa Baktybayeva, 11-grade schoolgirl, has won one more Space Projects Contest. The 16-y.o. Pavlodar student became the prize-winner of International Olympiad that was held in Houston, Texas on May 2-7. 100 projects from 68 countries were presented at the contest. The Pavlodar schoolgirl showed her space ship for travelling to the planet of Venus. “I have been awarded with the fourth place in the Space Engineering and Nanotechnologies nomination of the contest. The competition was tough, but it was interesting. We have visited NASA headquarters as part of the Olympiad program. This visit helped me realize that I want to work in the space engineering or may be even become an astronaut,” the girl said. The victory in this International Olympiad allowed her to win a scholarship of the University of Texas. International experts has already taken interest in the young inventor’s projects earlier. The Pavlodar Kazakh-Turkish lyceum schoolgirl won the first place in the VII International Scientific Space Research Competition that was held in Baikonur this April. It took the young inventor one year to work out her scientific project and construct her model of the scientific space ship for studying Venus. The air vehicle is made of an umbrella and a heater that fills a spheric bag with warm air. Old computer boards, earphones and DVD-player parts, umbrella, pegs and even balloons became parts of the main block of the aerostat. Moreover, the Pavlodar student took into account the previous experience of the unsuccessful flights to Venus in her calculations of the flight path of the space ship.
