Microsoft to help Kazakhstan introduce e-learning and e-healtcare

Kazakhstan Ministry of Transport and Communications and Microsoft International plan to create an open “mobile government” and implement the e-learning and e-healthcare services based on cloud technologies and relying on the global experience, Tengrinews.kz reports. A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in informational technologies has signed between Kazakhstan Ministry of Transport and Communications and Microsoft Kazakhstan. The document provides for cooperation between in application of the information technologies in the public and educational sectors, as well as in healthcare and private business. The parties will also cooperate in establishment of a center for innovations and business incubation and improvement of Internet security. As for the education, Microsoft will expand cooperation within Partnership in Education program, including professional development of teachers, making curriculum and promotion of innovational school programs. The company will also provide IT-Academy software to help teach the students studying informational technologies. According to the Ministry, the projects to be implemented in the nearest time will be developed as part of the state program called Information-Oriented Kazakhstan-2020 called to create conditions for Kazakhstan's transition to knowledge society. The Ministry will continue working on establishing dialogs and partnership relations with major IT companies. “The Fund for Development of Info-Communication Technologies was established a year ago together with major Kazakhstan communication companies. Its goal is to form innovational entrepreneurship and improve competitiveness of local informational-communication technologies. That’s why the Fund plans to expand the partners network, including by cooperation with global companies,” the Ministry wrote. By Azhar Ashirova
