KazSat-2 reached working spot on the orbit

National satellite KazSat-2 that was launched in the middle of July is set to the required position in the orbit, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing press-service of the National Space Communications Center. “August 22, 2011, KazSat-2 satellite, that was launched on July 16, 2011, was set to required position, which is 86.5 degrees East longitude,” the Center’s message states. The works to stabilize the satellite in this position are currently in process, as well as tests of the on-board systems of the satellite. The communication and broadcast satellite KazSat-2 covers Kazakhstan, Central Asia and parts of Russia. Kazakh National Center of Space Communications will be operating the satellite. The satellite weighs 1,330 kg.
