Kazakh Ambassador to Belarus Yergali Bulegenov and Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei have met to discuss a possible tripartite meeting of the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus in Astana, Tengrinews reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
The meeting took place on February 20. "They discussed (Kazakh-Belorussian) bilateral cooperation, cooperation at international platforms, including in the framework of organisations like the CIS and Eurasian Economic Union. In addition, they exchanged views on the possible agenda for a trilateral meeting of the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus that is expected to take place in the near future in Astana," the statement said.
According to the press service, the Kazakh diplomat also informed the Foreign Minister of Belarus about the initiative of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan to hold presidential elections in Kazakhstan early - this year instead of the scheduled 2016.
