President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has congratulated his county's citizens on Eid al-Fitr, also known as Oraza Ait, that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting, Tengrinews reports citing the presidential press service.

"Dear compatriots! From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you on the beginning of Oraza Ait holiday! It marks the end of the month of Ramadan during which Muslims all over the world seek spiritual purification. During this period, spiritual reward for noble intentions and good deeds, helping those it need and showing compassion multiplies.

"Islam calls the mankind to peace and stability. These high values ​​unite not only Muslims, but the whole nation of Kazakhstan. This makes Oraza Ait a true holiday of unity for all the citizens.

"The Kazakhstan society takes pride in its rich spiritual heritage and strong relations based on mutual respect and consent.

"I am calling all the Kazakhstanies to strengthen these traditions and always cherish our constructive values. May Oraza-Ait bring inspiration to out nation, and peace and well-being to your families!" he said.

Eid al-Fitr is the end of Ramadan month, the Islamic holy month of fasting and the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan. This is a day when Muslims around the world show a common goal of unity.
