George Krol was approved by US Senate as the US Ambassador to Kazakhstan on November 21.
In May this year, George Krol who then served as the US Ambassador to Uzbekistan was nominated to the position of U.S. Ambassador in Kazakhstan.
Before that, on September 11, 2013, U.S. Ambassador Kenneth Fairfax completed his tenure in Kazakhstan after he was appointed Deputy Executive Director of the International Energy Agency.
John Ordway then returned to Kazakhstan in October and took over as a temporary chief of the mission.
Mr. Krol was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1956. He got his Bachelor’s degree in History at Harvard University and then received both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Philosophy, Politics and Economics in Oxford University.
During his diplomatic carrier he worked in India, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Uzbekistan.
