Kazakhstan’s re-elected president Nursultan Nazarbayev continues receiving telegrams with congratulations on his win in the presidential elections held in Kazakhstan on April 26, Tengrinews reports.


Kazakhstan’s re-elected president Nursultan Nazarbayev continues receiving telegrams with congratulations on his win in the presidential elections held in Kazakhstan on April 26, Tengrinews reports.

“President of the United States Barack Obama has congratulated the Kazakhstan leader on the beginning of his new presidential term and on behalf of the American people he conveyed warm greetings to the people of Kazakhstan and wished peace and prosperity to the country,” the press office of the US Embassy in Kazakhstan said.

“The United States and Kazakhstan have a bright history of close cooperation in addressing global and regional problems. I look forward to continuing to deepen our bilateral relations and strategic partnership for the benefit of our people,” the congratulatory letter said.

Barack Obama emphasized that in partnership with Kazakhstan the U.S. provided support to ensuring security in Afghanistan and advanced common goals in nonproliferation.

“In the world of numerous threats, a long-term stability and security cannot be achieved without the development of representative and accountable institutions, and the civil society. I am ready to cooperate with you on all these important issues for the benefit of our nations," Barack Obama wrote.

French President Francois Hollande also sent a telegram of congratulations to Nazarbayev. “I would like to emphasize a high level of cooperation between France and Kazakhstan, which was evident during my last visit to your country,” the telegram reads.

Hollande also expressed readiness for the further strengthening of cooperation between Kazakhstan and France for the benefit of the two nations. “I would like to assure you that France supports your efforts aimed at ensuring stability and friendly relations with the Central Asian countries as well as improving the socio-economic situation in the region,” Hollande wrote. He also wished Nazarbayev success in his work on modernization of the country and implementation of democratic reforms.

British Prime Minister David Cameron wrote in the telegram: “The United Kingdom and Northern Ireland welcomes and supports Kazakhstan’s efforts to diversify the economy, achieve sustainable development and political modernization of the country.”

He said that he recalled his visit to Kazakhstan in 2013 with warm feelings. “We appreciate our strong, open and developing relations with Kazakhstan and we are committed to building even stronger ties in all the areas of bilateral cooperation,” the telegram said.

German Chancellor Angela Mercel expressed her sincere congratulations to Nazarbayev on his re-election for the fifth successive term. “Kazakhstan remains to be an important partner for Germany. You can always count on the Federal Government's support in the further expansion of confidential partner relations between our countries, strengthening of the principles of democracy, rule of law and civil society in Kazakhstan," the telegram said. Merkel wished Nazarbayev success in the further implementation of the goals on the responsible post.

President of Finland Sauli Niinistö also sent a telegram with sincere congratulations to Nazarbayev and wished success “at such high and responsible post.”

Jordan's King Abdullah II Ibn Hussein also congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev on his own behalf and on behalf of the Jordanian people. "I would like to mention our commitment to further development of the bilateral relations with Kazakhstan in all the spheres, as well as to enhancement of the efforts to ensure security, stability and peace in the interests of our friendly countries and for the benefit of the entire Muslim world," the telegram said. King Abdullah wished good health to Nursultan Nazarbayev, and progress and prosperity to the people of Kazakhstan.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Nazarbayev as well. "Your tireless work is aimed at the development and prosperity of the nation. Let me express my commitment to the further development of bilateral cooperation and expansion of our friendly and historical relations for the benefit of the people of the two countries," the telegram said. Egyptian President wished good health to Nursultan Nazarbayev, and peace and prosperity to the people of Kazakhstan.

Latvian President Andris Berzins wrote in his telegram: "I would like to highlight the constant development and strengthening of cooperation between Latvia and Kazakhstan, thanks to your personal contribution to the deepening of bilateral relations between our countries. Let me express my high appreciation of the expansion of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union. Latvia, in its turn, intends to continue to actively contribute to this process." He wished excellent health and success in this responsible post to Nursultan Nazarbayev and prosperity to the friendly nation of Kazakhstan.

Mongolian President Elbegdorj Tsakhiagiin also congratulated Nazarbayev. "I will be glad to cooperate with you in the further expansion and development of the traditional friendly relations between Mongolia and Kazakhstan for the benefit of our people," he wrote wishing health and success in his work to President Nazarbayev and prosperity to the friendly Kazakhstanis.
