Besides, they discussed the current state and prospects of the Kazakh-British relations, including implementation of the agreements achieved during David Cameron's visit to Kazakhstan in 2013. A week ago the President Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan and US President Barack Obama had a telephone conversation to discuss the current situation in Ukraine, both reiterating their interest in finding a peaceful solution. Before that Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev talked with President Vladimir Putin of Russia over the phone to discuss the situation in Ukraine. “Being Russia's strategic partner Kazakhstan understand Russia’s stance on Ukraine and its attempts to protect the rights of ethnic minorities in Ukraine and ensure its own security,” Nazarbayev said during the talks with President Putin.
