Kazakhstan plans joint companies with Finland

Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Serik Akhmetov discussed the coming visit of Finland's President to Kazakhstan with Finnish Minister of Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb. Sauli Niinistö is going to visit Kazakhstan in April 2013, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Prime-Minister's press-service. Besides, the parties exchanged their opinions on the current situation in the global economy. "I believe that we should expand our economic cooperation, through boosting trade relations in combination with opening new joint production facilities in Kazakhstan, implementing advanced Finnish technologies and developing transit capacities. We welcome participation of Finnish business in implementation of major breakthrough projects in energy, engineering, innovations. We also welcome transfer of new technologies to facilitate diversification of Kazakhstan's economy and development of science-driven, high-tech and export-oriented production," the press-service cited the Prime-Minister as saying. In his turn, Finnish Minister stressed that Finland fully supported Kazakhstan's bid to host EXPO-2017. "Astana is a modern and prospering city, and Kazakhstan's economy is one of three fast-growing economies in the world and demonstrates an impressive success," Stubb said. Finland's Minister of Foreign Trade was accompanied in his trip to Kazakhstan by a large business delegation of representatives of 55 Finnish companies that arrived to look for business partners in Kazakhstan and sign agreements.
