"We fully support the new economic policy and the New Silk Road project that are implemented in Kazakhstan at the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev. I am confident that our cooperation will contribute to the development of the economies of the two countries," the president of KTZ said.

"We are ready to further strengthen the mutually beneficial business relationship. We are paying much attention to this," Sheng Guangji said.

In the framework of the Kazakh-Chinese Business Council in Astana, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy signed two documents with the Chinese collegues. They are designed to further realize the transit potential of Kazakhstan.

The first agreement, signed by Askar Mamin and Sheng Guangji in the presence of heads of governments of the two countries, outlines the main directions of cooperation between Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Chinese Railways.

The document envisages that the railway administrations will jointly develop freight along China - Europe and China - Central Asia transport corridors that pass through the territory of Kazakhstan. In order to increase the attractiveness of these routes for shippers, a concerted competitive tariff will be worked out. In general, the agreement covered a wide range of joint activities - from development of border crossings to exchanging experiences in science and technology.

The second document was the agreement between a subsidiary of KTZh, JSC KTZh-Express, and Lianyungang Port to strengthen and improve the international traffic through the new Eurasian continental transport corridor. Using to the mechanisms and instruments set forth in the document, the sides intend to increase the traffic flow to 250,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent) in 2015, and this is not the limit.
