Foreign Investors Council to discuss Kazakhstan's innovative-technological development

The 26th plenary meeting of Kazakhstan President’s Foreign Investors Council is being held in Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports. The theme of the meeting is Kazakhstan’s innovative-technological development until 2020. According to the Information Department of Kazakhstan Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, the Council’s participants are focusing on the course of implementation of investment policoes for improvement of the investment climate in Kazakhstan, as well as on ways of foreign investors’ support in development of Kazakhstan content, new technologies transfer and production of high added value goods. The meeting also involves discussions of a range of Kazakhstan government’s initiatives related to implementation of the Innovative Development Concept until 2020 with the view of prompting foreign the investors to cooperate. The participants of the meeting of the Foreign Investors Council include heads of the biggest foreign companies, in particular President and CEO of General Electric Transportation Lorenzo Simonelli, Chairman and CEO of ConocoPhillips Ryan Lance, Chairman of Sberbank German Gref, CEO of Airbus John Leahy, President of the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS) Thomas Enders. The Foreign Investors Council is a consulting-advisory body chaired by Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev. It was established in 1998. By Renat Tashkinbayev
