Chinese Premier Li Keqiang expressed China’s readiness to build plants in Kazakhstan during the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana, Tengrinews reports.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang expressed China’s readiness to build plants in Kazakhstan during the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana, Tengrinews reports.

“At the moment (China and Kazakhstan) are developing a framework agreement for our cooperation. China is very advanced in equipment and technology and we are ready to supply glass, cement and agro-processing plants to Kazakhstan. This is complementary to the idea of Nurly Zhol program,” Li Keqiang said.

On December 14, China signed a currency swap agreement with Kazakhstan for three years to boost trade and investments between the countries.

“To withstand the challenges of the complex economic situation today, we are ready to create more favourable conditions for partnership in trade and investments. We are ready to consider further ways of diminishing trade and investment barriers with our partners in (SCO) and give more access to our markets,” Li Keqiang added.

Earlier, Li Keqiang also offered Kazakhstan help with the development of the infrastructure.

As a part of the official visit of Chinese Premier, Kazakhstan and China signed agreements totally worth $14 billion.

Li Keqiang met President Nazarbayev to discuss the key issues of the trade and economic, investments, energy, transport cooperation between the two nations.
