The U.S. list of specially designated countries (SDCs) has been annihilated, United States Ambassador to Kazakhstan Kenneth J. Fairfax said at the press-conference in Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports. “The list has been eliminated. It was a mistake, a misunderstanding and a wrong interpretation. The United States have never considered Kazakhstan a country posing any kind of threat. That list created lots of misunderstanding,” Kenneth Fairfax noted. According to him, the list was deleted in August 2011. The document was unveiled in July 2011. It was published at the website of the US Department of Homeland Security. It included the countries “that have shown a tendency to promote, produce, or protect terrorist organizations or their members”. Besides Kazakhstan, the list also mentioned Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
