Tomorrow Constitutional Council to announce its ruling on the ballot in Zhanaozen

January 11, 2012 Kazakhstan’s Constitutional Council is to announce its ultimate ruling on the possibility of holding the vote in the oil-producing city of Zhanaozen, Tengrinews.kz report, citing the Constitutional Council’s Press Service. According to the Press Service, January 11 at 11.00 a.m. Astana time the Constitutional Council is to announce its ultimate ruling on the possibility of holding the parliamentary vote in Zhanaozen following the President Nazarbayev’s veto on the earlier decision to ban Zhanaozen from voting. January 4 the situation-of-emergency was prolonged in Zhanaozen till the end of the month. January 6 the Constitutional Council announced the vote shouldn’t be held in Zhanaozen given the state of emergency. Today Head of State has vetoed the Constitutional Council’s decision.
