President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov will not come for the informal summit of heads of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member-states that will start today, August 12, in Astana, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing the source in diplomatic circles. Earlier CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha said that Karimov did not confirm participation in the summit. “At a certain stage he spoke about his intention to take part, but refused to participate a few days ago,” he added. The plan is that heads of the states will evaluate security problems and work out certain measures. “The main problem for today is the problem of Afghanistan. This is not only illegal drug-trafficking, but also militants training camps, activation of extremist groups and different organized crime groups,” Bordyuzha noted.
