Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has offered the undefeated Gennady Golovkin a bet, Tengrinews reports citing Fight Hype.
In an interview with Fight Hype, Chavez said that he would bet $1 million on knocking out Golovkin.
“I put one million dollar. Golovkin puts one million dollar too. Golovkin knock me out, he wins the two million. But if he or I win by decision, no one wins the money,” Chavez said.
The Mexican boxer added that watching Golovkin’s last fight against Murray he did not see any special skills. Chavez admitted that Golovkin has power and throws a lot of punches, but he does not have Manny Pacquiao’s speed or Maywether’s techniques.
Chavez is one of the possible opponents for Golovkin this year. On April 18, he faces Andrzej Fonfara at StubHub Center in California. According to Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler, in case Chavez wins the fight, Golovkin will be ready to face the Mexican boxer in June.
