Kazakhstan sold $500 million worth of gold in 6 months

Kazakhstan exported 13.3 tons of untreated and semi-treated gold worth $574.6 million in January-July 2012, which is 27.5 percent less in quantity and 16.1 percent less in revenues than in the same period of last year, KazTAG reports citing the Customs Control Commission of Kazakhstan Finance Ministry.
According to the Commission’s website, major importers of Kazakhstan gold include Switzerland (12 tons worth $527.7 million), Italy (1.1 tons worth $39.2 million) and Kyrgyzstan (0.2 tons worth $7.7 million).
Kazakhstan also exported 521 tons of untreated and semi-treated silver worth $515.4 million. Major importers include Switzerland (307.6 tons worth $300.2 million), Great Britain (133.6 tons worth $133.8 million) and Hong Kong (48.4 tons worth $49.3 million).
