KazTransOil Director General on planned crude supplies to China and Russia

Kairgeldy Kabyldin, KazTransOil Director General, has announced Kazakhstan’s plans with regards to oil supplies to China and Russia, Tengrinews.kz reports. “According to the country’s Ministry of oil and gas, crude supplies to China are expected to make up 11-12 million tons”, he said, reminding that the current capacities of the Kazakhstan-China oil pipeline stands at 14 million tons. “We are considering expanding the capacities to 20 million tons … hopefully, the works will start this year … The shipment tariff was raised December 1, 2012. KazTransOil’s revenues related to oil supplies to China are expected to increase by about 30%”. He also added that as of today the Company transits crude across Russia via the Atyrau-Samara pipeline. “At least 15 million tons of crude are to be shipped across Russia to be further supplied to the markets of the Baltic sea, the Black sea and East Europe. Last year we shipped 15.7 million tons”, Mr. Kabyldin said. “We ship another 3 million tons of crude across the Caspian sea towards the Black sea. Now we are considering raising the volume up to 5 million tons”, he said.
