A German businessman wanted to buy a horse from Kazakhstan for 350 thousand Euro, Anna Perova, Public Relations Manager of equestrian club Altyn Tai (Golden Colt) told Tengrinews. This unusual case in the history of Kazakhstan’s horse riding took place a few years ago, when Germans offered the mentioned above amount for Ispovednik (Confessor), a Russian riding breed horse of Orlovo-Rostopchinskaya breed. The breed was presented at the World Exhibition in 1889 in Paris for the first time, after the event the whole world started talking about ‘Russian black caviar on four legs’. According to the club’s representative this breed is considered the most beautiful and smartest breed in equestrianism. However, we decided to turn down the foreigners’ offer, and the horse is now being trained in Almaty-based Altyn Tai equestrian club with famous jockey Sergey Buikevich who is also a Vice-President of the Kazakhstan Equestrian Federation. Together they are preparing for the World Equestrian Games, Asian Games and intend to participate in the Olympics. Ispovednik is famed as multiple champion of Kazakhstan, Asian Champion 2006, Central Asian Champion 2011, silver prize winner of the Central Asian Championship 2013 and participant of the Asian Games 2006 in Doha, Qatar. According to Perova, talented horses always attract buyers. A horse’s value is defined by its sports capabilities, titles, victories, age, health, exterior and genealogy. “I think that equestrian sport routed in the history and culture - with horse breeding traditions passed from one generation to the next, the ability to understand horses and the place that horse riding holds in the history of our country - has a great potential to become a feasible industry and an affordable sport for a lot of people through government support and state-run programs,” the equestrian club representative added.
