Non-primary goods made up ¼ of the overall Kazakhstan’s exports in 2011, Newskaz.ru reports, citing President as saying at his March 2 meeting with all the ambassadors accredited in Kazakhstan. “The exports figure totaled $88 billion, with non-primary goods accounting for $21 billion”, he elaborated. President reminded that the foreign trade turnover in 2011 amounted to $126 billion, 40% up from 2010. “Kazakhstan has never been naïve in terms of geopolitical strategies: we’ve been working to strengthen integration within Eurasia; Kazakhstan alongside with Russia and Belarus has formed a common economic space (…) I want to once again emphasize that is an economic union first of all (…) We are progressing towards the Eurasian economic union”, President said.
