First supply of Russian petrol delivered to Kazakhstan to overcome fuel shortages: Oil and Gas Minister

The first supply of Russian petrol that Kazakhstan decided to buy in the neighboring Russia to overcome fuel shortages in the domestic market has reached Kazakhstan, Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev told journalists in Astana October 15, Novosti Kazakhstan reported. The decision to purchase 50 000 tons of petrol had been taken by the Kazakhstan’s Government in September against the backdrop of substantial fuel shortages. “The first supply has been purchased (…) 13 000 tons have reached a number of country regions”, Mynbayev told journalists. Earlier the Minister announced that KazMunayGas National Oil and Gas Company “would be importing petrol from Russia at a loss”.
